First Command Financial Advisor - Dave Thompson

Dave joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in June 2007. Previously, he worked at American Pensions, Inc as a 401(k) consultant.

A graduate of Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Business Administration degree, Dave is a Certified Financial Planner & Trade professional. He holds Series 6 and 63 securities licenses plus state life and health insurance licenses in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.

Understanding that the single most powerful contributor to financial well-being is behavior, Dave works closely with his clients to develop personalized financial plans that reflect their values, address their priorities and support their goals. Each plan includes recommendations for specific financial products and services to support those goals. And through ongoing planning to address changes in one's financial and personal circumstances, Dave is ready to assist clients as they pursue their goals through a lifetime financial journey. Having witnessed the financial difficulties resulting from the loss of a family member, Dave is committed to helping others prepare thoughtfully for the financial well-being of their loved ones. Dave is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the National Federation of Independent Business.

In his free time, he enjoys coaching his children's sports teams, traveling, trying new restaurants and serving as a small group leader at Seacoast Church.
