Melanie Shuster, PHD, CRNP

Melanie is a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) who specializes in nutrition medicine. Her practice includes the diagnosis of acute and chronic malnutrition and treatment with enteral (tube feeding) and parenteral (intravenous feeding) therapies.



After earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing at Duquesne University, Melanie earned a Master of Science in nursing at the University of Pittsburgh and a Doctor of Philosophy at Duquesne University. She also earned a Nurse Practitioner Graduate Certificate at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.

Melanie is a member of the American Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Caring for patients 18 and older, Melanie is committed to patients and families who need invasive and artificial nutritional therapies in the hospital or at home to restore, rehabilitate and maintain nutritional health.
