Michael Finan, MD, FACS

Dr. Michael Finan is the only Gynecologic Oncologist on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, specializing in the diagnosis, care, and treatment of women with cancers of the reproductive system. He is dedicated to treating all areas related to gynecological cancers by using the least-invasive procedures available.

He served as the Cancer Center Director of the University of South Alabama (USA) Mitchell Cancer Institute from 2014‐2018. Dr. Finan has been named one of the top Gynecologic Oncologists in the United States by U.S. News and World Report for several years.

He was a co-investigator on a $1.3 million NCI funded grant to study a new screening test for ovarian cancer, he is a co‐inventor on 6 patents filed, 2 issued patents related to this novel ovarian cancer screening technology.

Married for 32 years to wife Melinda, adopted boy‐girl twins from Russia in 1998, they are now 21.

Dr. Finan joined the Singing River Health System Team in April 2020 and serves as Medical Director of Singing River Cancer Center and Singing River’s Chief of Women’s Health.
