Demetrios (Jim) Politis, DO

Demetrios (Jim) Politis, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician. He received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency from Normandy Osteopathic Medical Center/Des Peres Hospital.

Since 1987, Dr. Politis has practiced as a family medicine physician. He is joining the SSM Health Medical Group as an internal medicine physician, where he will provide care to patients 18 years of age and older, as well as treat a broad range of medical topics with an emphasis on preventative health care.

His motto is to seize the day and follow the same healthy lifestyle he advises to his patients. He takes special interest in the evaluation and treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic disease, promoting appropriate screenings for early detection of cancer, and proper nutrition and exercise to achieve and maintain health.

Dr. Politis is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, and St. Louis District of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.

Being a St. Louis native, Dr. Politis is an avid fan of the city’s sports franchises, restaurants, parks, trails, museums and concert venues.
