David A. Nickel, MD

Dr. Nickel is board certified in general surgery and has received advanced training in laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Nickel completed the general surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2000. His medical degree was earned at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Nickel’s undergraduate degree is from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he completed a double science major in molecular, cellular and developmental biology and biochemistry.

In addition to his general surgery experience, Dr. Nickel has participated in continuing education programs such as the Laparoscopic Colectomy Symposium at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, which provided additional training in minimally invasive colon cancer surgery, one of Dr. Nickel’s areas of concentration.
