About Richard Helfrey, DO

Dr. Helfrey is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty training in foot and ankle surgery. His special interests include ankle replacement, reconstruction of the foot and ankle, and sports injuries of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Helfrey received his medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. He completed an internship with Metropolitan Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, and orthopedic surgery residency at Deaconess Medical Center – West, St. Louis, Missouri. Following residency, Dr. Helfrey completed a fellowship in foot and ankle trauma from the Center for Orthopedic Care/Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Helfrey serves St. Charles County at SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles and Lake St. Louis.
