Deborah La Scola, MD

Deborah La Scola, MD, FACS, is a board-certified urologist with over 10 years of experience after completing her urology residency at Saint Louis University. She received her medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, and she double majored in biology and psychology at Spring Hill College where she graduated Magna cum Laude in the honors program.

Before joining SSM Health, Dr. La Scola practiced as a urologist in Mobile, Alabama. She enjoys the full spectrum of general urology involving both male and female patients. Her special interests and procedures include laparoscopic hand-assist nephrectomies, kidney stone surgery and transurethral resection of bladder tumors and resection of prostates. She provides care to patients ages 18 and older.

She is affiliated with SLUCare Physician Group, and is a member of American Urologic Association and Society of Women in Urology, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Outside of work, Dr. La Scola enjoys spending time with her family and doing anything outdoors. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, hiking, fishing and playing the piano.
