Andrea Schwoerer, MD

Andrea Schwoerer is a board certified general surgeon who specializes in bariatrics and minimally invasive surgery. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her residency at Cleveland Clinic – Akron General. Dr. Schwoerer completed a fellowship in bariatric surgery at Carolinas Medical Center and has previously worked as a bariatric surgeon at Blossom Medical Group in Nevada.

A native of the Midwest, Dr. Schwoerer is happy to join the team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital and see patients in the area she calls home. She is a compassionate physician and feels it is important for women to be represented in the medical community, especially in areas such as surgery.

Dr. Schwoerer is committed to providing exceptional, state-of-the-art treatment by staying current in her field and seeking opportunities to continuously improve her surgical techniques. She is a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Association of Women Surgeons. She also speaks fluent English and Ukrainian.
