William C. Schroer, MD

Dr. Schroer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty expertise in total knee replacement, one of the co-medical directors of the Joint Replacement Center at SSM Health DePaul Hospital, and the SSM Health Network Medical Director of Orthopedics.

Dr. Schroer attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana for his undergraduate degree before attending medical school at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his general surgery internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Schroer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

One of the initial proponents of minimally invasive knee replacements, Dr. Schroer has performed more than 6000 knees with this technique. During this time Dr. Schroer has conducted and published several clinical research studies related to improving patient experience and outcomes after total knee replacement.

Dr. Schroer serves the greater St. Louis region at SSM Health DePaul Hospital.
