Andrew C. Trunkhill, NP

Andrew Trunkhill is originally from Humboldt, Iowa. He earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City Iowa. Following his education he began practicing as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg Iowa, later operating his own clinic under Palo Alto County Hospital in West Bend Iowa. He has over 25 years of nursing experience in a variety of settings including medical/surgical, operating room, and surgical intensive care.Andrew's favorite part of practicing medicine is establishing meaningful relationships with his patients and educating them through their health and wellness journey. His favorite quote is from Dr. Ben Carson, "You only have so much time in your life, and you only have so much energy. So you have to select carefully how you're going to spend that energy. If you waste it spinning your wheels on things that are not going to change, then it deprives you of an opportunity of utilizing it on things that are going to change".As a family nurse practitioner, Andrew enjoys each patient experience across the life spectrum from the very young to the very old. He is passionate about the patient experience, and that each person is satisfied with care they have received. When not working, you may see Andrew enjoying time riding his motorcycle with his wife Jennifer, or spending time riding bicycles and going for walks with his three boys, Noah, Micah, and Isaiah.
