Grace Lopez, MD, FACS earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her residency in General Surgery at Emory University and her fellowship in Minimally Invasive Bariatric and Foregut Surgery at the University of Washington. She received her dual undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and Music Performance from Emory University and is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Lopez specializes in the multi-disciplinary treatment and management of morbid obesity. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Lopez worked as a general and bariatric surgeon with The Southeast Permanente Medical Group. She is an active member of multiple surgical societies: American College of Surgeons, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.In her spare time, Dr. Lopez enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Lopez is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
