American Income Life: Robert Hughes

Before he joined American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL) in 1996, Robert Hughes was a member of the United States Army, working in communications and receiving trade, technical, and vocational training. “Upon discharge from the military, I was attracted to AIL because I could earn unlimited lifetime income,” recalls Rob.
“The opportunity to become an Agency Owner was the fulfillment of a major career goal … to help American Income Life become a billion-dollar organization. I also love the sense of pride that comes with Agency ownership. As a veteran, I have a blue-collar background, but my time with AIL has given me decades of experience in the financial services industry. I have a well-rounded perspective that lets me relate to both our clients and our Agency force,” Rob adds.

“My great aunt, Alice, instilled in me a phrase when I was only six years old, ‘Once a task is first begun, never leave it until it’s done. No matter if the job is big or small, do it well or not at all’, and it’s served me well in my professional life,” says Rob. My team members and I led our Agency for four years in a row, and that definitely stands out as a major accomplishment. But my greatest achievement was becoming a State General Agent (SGA) in Georgia. What’s most rewarding about joining AIL is successfully promoting Agents to Agency Leaders. There is no better feeling than helping someone achieve their goals,” indicates Rob.
