Melissa Arief, MD - Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group Vintage Orthopedics

Dr. Melissa S. Arief is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon in Houston, Texas and has a Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand. She graduated with general and departmental honors from Vassar College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry. Dr. Arief then earned a combined Medical Doctorate (MD) and Master of Health Science (MHS) degree, specializing in translational research at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Arief completed her residency at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. She continued her education by completing a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Philadelphia Hand Center ' which is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University ' where she trained with world-renowned hand surgeons in all of the latest surgical procedures and techniques. Outside of work Dr. Arief is very active; she enjoys indoor cycling, swimming, cooking and reading.
