Durable building materials are important not only for their aesthetic qualities but also for their ability to withstand time. As an example, concrete, which is the most common form of construction material, is constantly subjected to wear and tear especially if it is exposed to very low temperatures. However, concrete is made of cement and so it is subjected to the effects of hydrostatic pressure. And in case of high temperature, concrete will expand and contract, thus making it vulnerable to cracks and breaks.
