Daniela Accurso

Daniela Accurso, MD, MPH is a member of Summit Health’s Family Medicine team. Dr. Accurso covers the full spectrum of family medicine, treating children through the senior population. She comes from a diverse background of working in inpatient and outpatient care, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.

In addition to her experience in clinical practice, Dr. Accurso has a strong background in public health, an area that gave her a thorough understanding of how physical environment, socioeconomic status, and access to health services affect individuals and the community as a whole. This experience has sharpened her focus on early intervention and treatments that can help prevent chronic illness and keep patients out of the hospital.

Dr. Accurso’s care philosophy is to establish trust and treat patients as she would want her family members to be treated. “As general practitioners, we are the backbone of the system and often the first stop for patients seeking help and treatment,” says Dr. Accurso. “We must ensure we never lose sight of doing what is best for each individual patient, which includes making sure they have a true understanding of their condition and involving them in an action plan to get them to better health in the most cost-effective way.”

When she’s not in the office seeing patients, Dr. Accurso loves to cook, travel, play tennis, and enjoy time with her kids.
