Dr. Emilian Cristea
Emilian Cristea MD, is double board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine and founder of Kidney Health Specialists, located in Hollywood, Florida. His mission is to provide thoughtful, compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals living in and around Broward County. 

Dr. Cristea earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed his first residency at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania in 2007. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Cristea completed a second residency in Internal Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, located in Royal Oak, Michigan. He then went on to complete a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida in 2019. During his fellowship he earned multiple awards including the Outstanding Fellow Award. Another noteworthy honor is his achievement of scoring in the 99th percentile on the Nephrology National Board Examination.

Dr. Cristea takes personal satisfaction in helping his patients manage their individual health concerns. He is experienced in both acute and chronic illnesses and works tirelessly to establish professional relationships with each patient, to understand every individual’s concerns, and develop personalized treatment plans. Dr. Cristea relies on his extensive knowledge as well as consulting with other experts in the field to ensure he meets each patient’s specific needs.
At Kidney Health Specialists, Dr. Cristea routinely treats conditions like hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, acute kidney disease, electrolyte disorders, kidney stones, hematuria (blood in urine) and much more. Kidney Health Specialists also offers dialysis to patients that are living with chronic kidney disease.

To better serve Hollywood, Florida's diverse community, Dr. Cristea is fluent in English, Romanian, Spanish, Italian and conversational French. He is affiliated with multiple hospital systems including Memorial Health Systems, Florida Medical Center, Westside Regional Medical Center, Aventura Hospital and University Hospital.

When he is not treating patients at Kidney Health Specialists, Dr. Cristea enjoys spending quality time with his loving family, reading, grilling and traveling.
