About Dr. Vivian Torres


Vivian M. Torres, M.D. is the Medical Director of VENAS Vascular Specialists, which is located in Sarasota, FL, within the Lakewood Ranch community. Dr. Torres is a bilingual and board-certified vascular surgeon who takes a conservative, holistic, patient-centered approach to treating vein disease.

Dr. Torres is also the Medical Director of the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (LWRMC). In addition to hospital privileges at LWRMC, she also has privileges at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota Doctors Hospital and DeSoto Memorial Hospital. She has been nominated for SRQ Magazine's Top Doctors edition in both 2019 and 2021.

Dr. Torres completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico - Rio Piedras Campus in 2002, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to study medicine at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2006. After completing her transitional year of residency at Hospital de Damas in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she completed her general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan, and her vascular surgery residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center (DMC) in Detroit, Michigan.

To ensure that she stays up-to-date with the latest advances in vascular procedures, Dr. Torres maintains affiliations with several professional organizations, including the Society for Vascular Surgery, Florida Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, and Association of Women Surgeons. She has also made numerous contributions to peer-reviewed journals and presentations at professional gatherings.
