Alex Gilde MD

Dr. Gilde enjoys many aspects of orthopaedics, but specializes in the evaluation of hip and knee problems, specifically those resulting in arthritic changes. The ability to take a degenerative joint and help create pain free motion and restore patient’s mobility is what particularly drew him to joint reconstruction. However, much of this is not only the result of reconstructive surgery, but the perseverance and diligence of patients. As a result of his training, Dr. Gilde specializes in primary and revision total hip and total knee arthroplasty, as well as periprosthetic fractures and prosthetic joint infections. As a part of clinical faculty at Michigan State University, he enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge and experience with residents and medical students. Hailing from Northern Michigan, Dr. Gilde also enjoys the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and kayaking when time allows.
