Terri S. Schmitt, DPM

Terri Schmitt, DPM, is originally from Indiana. She earned a bachelor's degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, followed by her medical degree from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Following her education, she moved to Merrillville, Indiana to complete a residency at St. Mary's Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana.Dr. Schmitt feels it is an honor to provide specialized medical and surgical foot care to her patients and to listen to their individual needs. Every patient is unique, and thus she strives to provide a treatment plan that is best suited for that person's particular circumstances. Educating the patient regarding their diagnosis, long-term expectations and risks versus benefits of reasonable treatment options is very important in the shared decision making process.As a board certified Podiatrist, Dr. Schmitt enjoys providing care to individuals with a variety of foot and ankle problems. She is passionate about resolving painful foot conditions for her patients. When she is not at work, Dr. Schmitt enjoys mountain and road biking, hiking the mountains and canyons, as well as river rafting.
