About Us
Amjad Safvi, MD, is a board-certified vein and vascular specialist at Advanced Vein Treatment and Cosmetic Center in Lake Zurich and Chicago Ridge, Illinois. Dr. Safvi has extensive experience in the field of interventional radiology and impressively holds a license to practice medicine in 17 states.
Dr. Safvi earned his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. Upon graduating, Dr. Safvi returned to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to complete his Master of Science in electrical engineering. He began his radiology residency at the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis and completed the remainder of his residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Safvi then furthered his medical training with a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. 
Dr. Safvi has practiced in various health facilities across the state of Illinois. He holds professional memberships with the Radiological Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology, and the American College of Radiology.
In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Safvi has given various presentations on subjects in the field of radiology and vascular care and has several published research articles to his credit. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and certified as a Registered Vascular Technician by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Dr. Safvi also holds a certificate of added qualification in interventional radiology.
