Clean dealership

dont take care of you after buy car. dont expect to be treated nicely unless you are buying a car.

Have never had such horrible treatment

I went to this dealership to look at a few vehicles after applying for financing online and speaking with a sales person, who had an "approval" from a bank for me or so she claimed.. I explained that I was coming out of some financial hardship due to being laid off in 08-09 and was trying to rebuild my credit. She told me no worries they had a program that I had been approved for and what documents that I needed for financing. I told her over the phone what type of car I was looking for and where I wanted my payments to be. I was told no problem and that they would take care of me.

I brought my girlfriend along to help with the decision. Once I arrived they allowed me to look around at different vehicles. Then I had decided on a moderately priced pre owned vehicle. They took a credit app and all at that point even though I was told that I was approved. Then she walks in with the finance guy. He told me that I would have to purchase a "starter vehicle" which would help me rebuild my credit. I asked him to show me these vehicles. All the vehicles he showed me had high milage except one. There was an 05 Pontiac Grand prix and I let him know that was the one that I wanted to purchase. He told me without even looking at the numbers that car would not work for the program I had got approved for. It was an 05 Ponitac Gran prix, which is not an expensive car. He kept trying to push me towards high milage cars for around the same price. Then he told me that I would never be able to get a car like that and that every dealer would tell me the same. He told me that I would have to have a co-signer and my girl friend was willing to do so but not after the way he went about doing business. I left the dealership very frustrated and feeling like I wasted a whole Saturday.

A couple months later after I decided to wait a little longer to find a decent car. I get a call back from the same sales person at Fox Valley. Telling me to come in and they had a new selection that would work for me. I didn't want to go back but my girlfriend told me just to go take a look and since they had already pulled my credit it should go much smoother. This time they had an 05 Toyota Camry that i was told over the phone would work for me. I go to the dealership and the sales person that I originally worked with was unavailable after we made an appointment for that specific date and time. They got another sales person who was nice but knew nothing about my previous visit and what type of car or my financial situation. However, the finance guy remembered me and came in the office to ask what kind of car I wanted. I told him that the sales person called about the Camry. He went on again to tell me that I would never get a car like that and that every other dealer would tell me the same. I was livid to say the least. Why would they call me back and the give me the same BS. I had a few choice words with the smug/ rude finance manager and then called the store manager to complain about how I was treated on both visits.

I ended up purchasing a 05 Toyota Camry just like the one they hod on their lot for the same price from another dealership 2 weeks after all this, with the exact same finance company that the finance guy lied and said would not allow me to get the 05 Camry nor the 05 Grand Prix from their lot.

This dealership is the worst and I see why they had very little customers both times I was there. My girl friend has 06 VW Passat and has been thinking about buying the new CC or Toureg but it will not be from this VW dealer. A friend of ours was in the market for a new Toureg and we told them to go to Jennings VW in Glenview. They are a much better VW dealership.
