Nizar A Mukhtar

Nizar A. Mukhtar, MD, received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and transplant hepatology fellowship at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Mukhtar is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. His clinical interests include management of chronic liver diseases, viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, hepatocellular carcinoma, and liver transplantation.
Dr. Mukhtar incorporates evidence-based medicine and cutting edge science in the design of comprehensive treatment plans for his patients. He believes in a holistic approach to patient care and places great emphasis on making sure his patients understand disease processes and are actively engaged in their medical care. Dr. Mukhtar's treatment plans are focused on promoting good overall health and optimizing quality of life.
