Robert Vagueiro

Robert Vagueiro, PA-C is a member of Summit Health's General Surgery team. Mr. Vagueiro has expertise in all fields of medicine with special interest in general and bariatric surgery. He works in concert with the attending physician to perform bariatric surgery procedures as well as minimally invasive general surgery procedures, including hernia repair, gallbladder removal, and esophageal disorders. He states, “I believe that the basis of patient-centric care relies heavily on a strong provider-patient relationship and so I strive to form deep connections with my patients.”<br />

Mr. Vagueiro graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from Seton Hall University, where he also attended his physician assistant program. Upon graduation he was awarded the Edward J. III Excellence in Medicine Scholarship Award, an award created by the EJI Excellence in Medicine Foundation to recognize outstanding medical, dental, and health care students in New Jersey. While in graduate school, Mr. Vagueiro was involved in an enrichment program that focused on educating high school students from an urban community about different disease states, careers in medicine, and clinical skill development.<br />

He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants.
