Timothy Johnson

Timothy Johnson, MD is a member of Summit Health's Urgent Care Center team. Dr. Johnson is board-certified in critical care, internal and emergency medicine and is positioned to fully support patients of all ages within the urgent care setting. “As a caregiver, it is my job to empower patients to reach their optimal health by providing them with the knowledge and tools necessary to do so,” says Dr. Johnson. “Life is a gift, and health is an accomplishment, so I do my best to help patients find hope when they are ill or redefine hope when a prognosis is dismal,” he adds.<br />

In addition to his position at Summit Health, Dr. Johnson is an attending physician at Morristown Medical Center. He completed a double major in French (a fluency he maintains) and Pre-Med from the University of Notre Dame and then went on to volunteer for 10 months in a Chilean orphanage, where he learned Spanish. Upon return, he earned his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School at UMDNJ and was the first graduate of the NS-LIJ triple combined residency. After completing his fellowship, he worked in intensive care and emergency rooms. In addition, he was lead author of a research study published in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine in 2018 about the decrease in intubations in elderly patients.<br />

Dr. Johnson is honored to serve the community where he grew up, alongside other enthusiastic, compassionate, and intelligent physicians. In addition to fostering physician wellness and patient empowerment, Dr. Johnson enjoys linguistics, cooking, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
