Petko Mitev

Petko Mitev, PA, has more than 20 years' experience as a surgeon and surgical assistant. Before joining Summit Health, Mr. Mitev was a surgical assistant for University Medical Center in Princeton, New Jersey. He also has been a staff surgeon and clinical research fellow at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. He was previously a doctor for the Italian Embassy, also in Sofia. Mr. Mitev is a member of the Bulgarian Surgical Society.<br />

With a passion for surgery, Mr. Mitev continued his path in medicine after he moved to the United States. He says, "I believe it is important to do everything possible to meet patients' needs." He adds, "Being a surgical physician assistant allows me to use my surgical experience and education to deliver outstanding care to my patients and support my supervising physicians."<br />

When he is not working with his patients, Mr. Mitev enjoys spending time with his 2 sons and wife. He is an avid soccer and tennis player.
