Karen Piwowar

Karen Piwowar, MD is a member of Summit Health's Family Medicine Team. Dr. Piwowar provides primary care for patients of all ages—from pediatrics to adolescents and all the way through every stage of adulthood. She is a strong advocate for adolescent and women's health. She provides patients with family planning strategies, contraception management (including IUD and Nexplanon placement/removal), STI screenings, cervical cancer &amp; breast cancer screenings, as well as issues that affect women at menopause and beyond.<br />

Dr. Piwowar joined Summit Health&nbsp;straight out of residency where she was responsible for creating a community service project that continues to provide free cervical cancer and breast cancer screening to underinsured and undocumented women in Middlesex County.<br />

Dr. Piwowar is a member of the American College of Physicians, the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. In her free time, she enjoys yoga for relaxation and tennis, hiking, and snowboarding to stay active.
