Shail Patel

Shail N. Patel, DPM, FACFAS, specializes in a wide range of reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Patel’s expertise includes reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle involving all deformities and pathology (bunions, Hammertoes, neuromas, heel pain, flatfoot deformity, soft tissue masses/tumors and pes cavus deformity),foot and ankle arthroscopy, trauma injuries(including ankle fractures, foot fractures and tendon tears of the foot and ankle), external fixation, sports-related injuries and treatment, pediatric deformities and injury, and diabetic wound care and limb salvage.<br />

Dr. Patel has practiced with Summit Health/Foot and Ankle Care Associates since 2005. He previously had a role as a Fellowship Director of the Foot and Ankle Care Associates Reconstructive Fellowship Program.<br />

Dr. Patel is the co-author of book chapters, presentations and research on wound healing and ankle fracture protocol and management. Dr. Patel is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New Jersey Podiatric Medical Association.<br />

When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling with his family and playing soccer and tennis.
