Lisa V. Joseph, MD, specializes in internal medicine.<br />

Dr. Joseph has practiced in northern New Jersey since 1998. Before joining Summit Health, she practiced with Valley Medical Group in Wayne and Oakland, New Jersey. She also has practiced with Bon Secours Medical Group in West Milford, New Jersey. Dr. Joseph is Former Medical Director of the Saint Clare's Hospital Adult Clinic in Dover, New Jersey. While at Saint Clare's, she cared for patients and was a preceptor for students as an adjunct faculty member of New York University.<br />

Before earning her MD, Dr. Joseph was a researcher in molecular biology at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Columbia University. Some of her work has been published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.<br />

Dr. Joseph says, "Seeing my father practice medicine inspired me to become a doctor." She adds, "I guide my patients with respect and compassion while encouraging them to take responsibility for their health. I address both physical and mental health to improve their overall well-being."<br />

Dr. Joseph is a member of the American College of Physicians.<br />

When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Joseph enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, traveling, cooking, reading, and working out. She volunteers for the Interfaith Food Pantry and Learn for Life Foundation. Learn for Life is a nonprofit organization Dr. Joseph's son founded to help improve education for children in underdeveloped countries.
