Allison Mayfield, MD

Dr. Mayfield is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a focus in sports medicine. She completed  her residency at Southern Illinois University before completing an orthopaedic surgery sports medicine fellowship in Chicago, Ill., at the University of Chicago. She trained under her mentors including the team physicians for the NFL Chicago Bears, WNBA Chicago Sky, Women’s Chinese Olympic Volleyball Team as well as provided care for University of Chicago athletes. Currently, Dr. Mayfield treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions, including sports injuries, fracture care, work injuries, in addition to chronic conditions. She participates in local athletic team coverage, including serving as the team physician for the Illinois College football team and the Springfield Jr. Blues NAHL hockey team as well as local high school athletics.  A central Illinois native, Dr. Mayfield enjoys spending time outdoors, including fishing and horseback riding, as well as spending time with her husband, daughter and chocolate lab.  Top 1% Patient ExperienceThis provider ranks in the top 1% nationally in patient experience, based on scores from the "Care Provider Overall" question on surveys completed with Press Ganey.
