We have a protocol for fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) testing used for every evaluation which allows for direct comparison from one study to the next. We use multiple standard scales (5 point airway protection scale, Yale residue scale, reflux finding score, and dysphagia outcomes severity scale. We strive to include the nurses, families, SLPs, and other caregivers and are able to evaluate the patient in their natural environment while using their favorite foods and real medications to make the evaluation individualized to each patient. We will complete the evaluation at your location and leave a hard copy of the report with the patient and caregivers complete with results, diet recommendations, compensatory strategies, and targeted interventions.
