"Sustaining an injury or dealing with pain can be frustrating and impact more than just daily life activities. I look forward to working with you on a personalized and unique treatment plan through active listening, understanding, and shared decision-making. My interest in hand surgery solidified through several unique life experiences, from performing violin and piano on a national level, playing competitive tennis, working at a fish processing factory in Kenai, Alaska, to working in kitchens in New York City. Upon graduating college with a degree in Finance and Psychology, I chose a different path and completed culinary school while living and working in Paris, France. While I thrived in the fine dining environment which fostered creativity, attention to detail, precision, and working with my hands, I soon realized that I would be most fulfilled in life with a career in medicine, specifically surgery. My journey soon began in medicine and during my pre-medical post-baccalaureate at Washington University in St. Louis, I started hand surgery research and observed pediatric hand reconstructions. Realizing the importance of hand function turned my focus and commitment to becoming a hand surgeon. As a practicing hand surgeon, I feel fortunate to be a part of the healing process so that individuals can get back to what they enjoy."
