Arigna Mining Experience

Welcome to Arigna mining Experience. The historical coal mine cave opened to the public in 2003 and is now seen as a unique tourist attraction of both national and international significance. The energy centre gives the visitors a unique insight into what coal mining life was like in the Arigna Valley, since its beginning in the 1700’s until closure in 1990. All tours are given by ex miners. The tour takes about 45-55 minutes. Visitors can also explore the exhibition area which displays historical documents, photographs, and early equipment.
