My name is Joe Mayhew and I am a Bonsai and ceramic artist, as well as a classically trained chef.I was introduced to the art of ceramic and bonsai art earlier in my youth but only until the last few years did I really take the time to learn how to make it. I began creating Ikebana and Bonsai pots, I just love taking a lump of clay or a rough tree and turn it into something beautiful! I have always loved gardening so bonsai comes naturally to me.I understand the nuances needed in Bonsai, and my culinary background adds functionality to my artistic approach. I hand-throw and glaze every piece. To me, Japanese pottery is beautiful. It’s made with high-quality materials and it’s difficult to find in stores. I enjoy creating pieces that are unique to every customer.
