Total Foot and Ankle is a premier podiatry practice in Enid, Oklahoma. Owned and operated by board-certified podiatrist Scott Shields, DPM, it is the only podiatry practice in the area offering minimal incision surgery.

Dr. Shields is a Shelby, North Carolina, native who served in the U.S. Navy before studying engineering and chemistry at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and Central State University (now the University of Central Oklahoma) in Edmond. Since earning his doctorate in podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Dr. Shields has helped thousands of patients escape chronic pain, improve foot and ankle function, and enjoy life again. 

Dr. Shields is honored to serve Enid and Northwest Oklahoma. He believes in a personalized approach to care, tailoring treatment to provide the finest care possible. He takes the time to fully understand a patient's problem, lifestyle, and goals. Whether they have persistent heel pain or pesky plantar warts, Dr. Shields ensures his patients are well-informed about their condition and treatment choices.

Total Foot and Ankle values conservative care for optimal recoveries. Dr. Shields recommends a minimally invasive approach whenever possible to avoid surgical intervention. When surgery is necessary, he employs the latest techniques in his fully equipped, in-office surgical suite.

Dr. Shields’ professional affiliations include the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, the American Diabetes Association, the American Medical Athletic Association, and the Oklahoma Podiatric Medical Association. He’s a diplomate of the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners and American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Since establishing his practice in Enid over 25 years ago, Dr. Shields and his family have called the area home. He’s a licensed pilot and scuba diver who enjoys traveling when not helping patients.
