James M. Burkman, M.D.

"I am a physician anesthesiologist with a wide breadth of practice including obstetric, ambulatory, thoracic, and regional anesthesia. I have been working at Swedish Medical Center since completing residency at the University of Washington where I remain active as a clinical instructor teaching residents on obstetric anesthesia rotations and medical students in the main operating room. Since medical school, I've been active in organized medicine. Currently, I serve as a member of the board of directors of the Washington State Society of Anesthesiologists and was it's president in 2010 and 2011. I'm also a delegate to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and the Washington State Medical Association. I like to stay involved in order to advocate for the health of our citizens and of our providers."
