Founded and led by Fredesvinda Jacobs-Alvarez, MD, a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, the practice was established in 2006, to help patients create pathways to wellness, enabling them to obtain their full potential and lead healthy, fulfilling lives. 
At Esperanza Behavioral Health and Services, patients have access to innovative psychiatric treatment for mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and schizophrenia. The practice also helps children and adults with autism and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
In addition to psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individual, group, and family psychotherapy, Esperanza Behavioral Health and Services offers innovative transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatments for depression. TMS is an FDA-approved alternative for patients who have not found relief through antidepressant medications. 
Esperanza Behavioral Health and Services also provides therapeutic counseling, including anger management, parenting education, divorce counseling, support for grief, and LGBTQ issues. They can help patients cope with physical or sexual abuse, as well as trauma.
