Bruce Heckman, MD

Dr. Heckman is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. He has been in private office practice for 40 years in Ossining and Buchanan, New York, and has been the Medical Director of the Phelps Hospice program for 31 years.

He received his MD degree from New York Medical College, and did his residency and a year of Hematology fellowship there as well. He received his Masters in Public Health degree from Yale University in 1979 and has been Medical Director of a Community Health Center and ran the Medical Clinic at Westchester County Medical Center. He was a Board Member for 27 years at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, and has served as President of North Star Medical Group, P.C. and Hudson Valley Practice Management Group, Inc. His greatest satisfaction in medical practice comes from long-term relationships with patients and their families. He is an avid fly fisherman, collects antiques, and spends time with his five grandchildren.
