Orland Pediatrics: Nazem Alzalam, MD

Orland Pediatrics is a premier medical practice located in Orland Park, Illinois, led by board-certified pediatrician Nazem Alzalam, MD. Dr. Alzalam has over 25 years of experience in pediatric care and sees all patients himself. He and his team take a holistic approach to pediatric medicine using conservative, natural treatments whenever possible.
Dr. Alzalam earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Damascus University in Damascus, Syria. He was a research assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed a general pediatrics residency at Cook County Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where he earned the Department of Pediatrics Award.
After his residency, Dr. Alzalam practiced in numerous hospitals in the Chicagoland area. He’s worked in a variety of settings such as NICU, ER, and outpatient clinics. Dr. Alzalam worked for two years in Dubai and taught medical and family practice residents at Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was on the leadership team at Ross University and St. Matthew and St. James Universities, and participated in a research study called “The Endorphins Effect on the Spinal Cord in Rats” at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The Orland Pediatrics team evaluates and treats children of all ages in a warm, friendly atmosphere. They offer developmental screening, allergy and asthma testing, vaccinations, and much more. Patients requiring newborn care, general pediatrics care, wellness visits, sick visits, and sports or school physicals can turn to Orland Pediatrics for premium care. Dr. Alzalam maintains his advanced credentials with continuing education. He is board-certified in pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Alzalam earned the American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award twice. In his free time, he enjoys music, sports, and reading. Dr. Alzalam and his compassionate team welcome new patients to Orland Pediatrics and look forward to serving them.
