Fernando Kawai, M.D.

Dr. Fernando Kawai is a board certified Internal Medicine physician specializing in Hospice/Palliative Medicine and Geriatric Medicine practicing at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Sao Paulo Faculty of Medicine, completed his residency in Internal medicine and fellowship in geriatric Medicine. Dr. Kawai is the Program Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship, an Attending of the Division of Geriatrics & Palliative Care Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is sub-certified in Geriatric Medicine and Hospice/Palliative Medicine. Dr. Kawai also is a member of the American Geriatrics Society and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
