Richard A. Smith, MD - St. Joseph Health Primary Care University Drive

A native of Orange, Texas, Dr. Richard Smith chose to pursue medicine, after his family physician, who encouraged his interest in medicine. Today he finds all his patient experiences professionally rewarding.

Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from University of Texas Medical School in Houston and his Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. He completed his residency at Southwest Memorial Hospital, part of a UT-Affiliated System.

In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys golf, reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with his wife, three daughters, one son and extended family.
