For more than 90 years our family-owned business has focused on serving the people and businesses of Florida. In 1929, Wauchula State Bank opened for business with J.W. Crews, Sr. being part owner and employee. In May 1932, he purchased controlling interest in the bank and today it is still owned and operated by the Crews Family. In 1973, the Crews family branches in to Desoto County, opening First State Bank of Arcadia on N. Brevard Ave. In 2019, First State Bank of Arcadia became Crews Bank & Trust. Today, Crews Bank & Trust is part of a four-bank holding company with total assets of more than $1.5 billion. In addition to Crews Bank & Trust, Crews Banking Corporation owns Charlotte State Bank & Trust, Englewood Bank & Trust and Wauchula State Bank. Each bank has its own president and decisions are made locally in each of these markets. J.W. “Bill” Crews Jr. serves as Chairman for Crews Banking Corporation and Vice Chairman for Wauchula State Bank, with his grandson, J.W. “Jake” Crews IV, serving as CEO of Crews Bank & Trust.
