Charlotte's Studio

A long-time resident of West Virginia, Charlotte C. Gerlach is a professional self-taught artist creating in her preferred medium of oils, or pen and ink. A native of Richmond, Virginia, she is recognized internationally for her ability to capture subjects with photo realistic detail and scientific accuracy, and in a style that appeals to all ages.

In the early seventies, Charlotte relocated to West Virginia with her husband, John, and their three children, Deborah, Philip and Thomas. In 1974 she established Charlotte's Studio while seeing her three children through their school years. With shear determination, hard work and raw talent, she soon established herself as a skilled and well- respected artist earning recognition throughout West Virginia, and in surrounding states.

A turning point for this artist came about when she was featured in an early issue of the “Wonderful West Virginia” magazine. With this exposure her recognition grew. Since that time, her work has been widely published, earning numerous awards on both a national and international level.
