David Poynter, M.D. received his medical degree from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, which is where he also completed his internship and residency. Dr. Poynter went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine and has been practicing in Walton County since 2013. Dr. Poynter currently serves as a team physician at multiple local high schools. Dr. Poynter sees patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, and adults. He has a special interest in sports medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Poynter enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, playing golf, and watching UGA athletics.
