Alan J. Wein, MD, PhD (Hon). FACS

I am the Founders Professor and Emeritus Chief of Urology and Director of the Urology Residency Program at Penn Medicine. I received my medical degree in 1966, and have an honorary PhD from the University of Patras, Greece and am also an Honorary Professor at the Institute of Urology, Russian Ministry of Health.

My clinical and research interests include lower urinary tract, urinary incontinence and lower urinary tract dysfunction, prostate enlargement, and evaluation/management of prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. I have many years of experience in these areas and was honored to receive the International Continence Society (ICS) Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. I have authored and co-authored over 1,000 papers and book chapters during my years of practice.
