Marya believes in educating her patients on the importance of mental health and she strives to involve them in the development of their own treatment plan. By also addressing a patient’s mental health condition, Marya is able to optimize the delivery of care based on compassion and understanding. She realizes that mental health issues can sometimes be overwhelming for patients, so she aims to create a relaxed, judgment-free environment.

Marya attended the University of Texas at Austin and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to receive a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston -Victoria, and then a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Marya has been an RN since 1996 and a certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2010. She is experienced in a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses with patients from five years old and up. Her professional interests include improving patient education and reducing the stigma of mental illness.

In her spare time, Marya is a Professional Animator with several of her drawings featured on TV and other media. She also enjoys traveling with her son and experiencing the different cultures that the world has to offer.
