During her years as a nurse, Laura recognized the importance of treating each and every person with respect and dignity- something she is committed to providing for seniors. Nurse Next Door represents an opportunity for Laura to put her compassionate nature to use while fulfilling the need for supportive healthcare in the community.

Toronto’s population is aging and Laura knows firsthand that seniors want to age comfortable and happy at home. Her goal is to build an exceptional team dedicated to delivering Nurse Next Door’s un-paralleled level of service. Laura would like to set the bar for senior home care in Toronto and ultimately make a better life for seniors.

Working in the home health care industry, Kris spends every day on site at hospitals across Ontario and Manitoba. In his travels, it has become evident that the current health care infrastructure cannot support the aging population as more seniors are being moved out of hospitals and into communities. Due to the high cost of hospitalization and overcrowded rooms with lack of bed space, seniors are often discharged before they are ready to go home. Kris believes that too many seniors are forced back to their homes while they could still benefit from care and support. Often those needing care and their families do not know where to turn for help, or the help they find does not meet the standards they expect.

Palliative Care

Our palliative care is an approach to care which focuses on comfort and quality of life for those affected by life-threatening illness. Our goal is much more than comfort in dying; palliative care is about living, through meticulous attention to control of pain and other symptoms, supporting emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs and maximizing functional status. We make it possible for quality end of life care to be provided in the comfort of home surrounded by loved ones.
