Mae Zakhour, MD

Dr. Mae Zakhour is a board certified gynecologic oncologist who specializes in the comprehensive care for women with gynecologic malignancies and pre-invasive gynecologic disease. She also cares for women who are at high risk for gynecologic cancer based upon hereditary predispositions or family history. Dr. Zakhour is an expert in several surgical approaches to gynecologic cancer and pre-cancer, including laparoscopic, robotic, and open/laparotomy surgeries. She is the associate fellowship program director for the Gynecologic Oncology fellowship at UCLA, and she is an active participant in both education and research.
Dr. Zakhour received her undergraduate degree from Emory University, with dual majors in Spanish and Neuroscience & Behavioral Biology. She received her medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and then completed fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology at a combined UCLA/Cedars-Sinai program. Dr. Zakhour is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.
