A board-certified pediatrician who specializes in pediatric gastroenterology, Dr. Aybar was born in Ankara, Turkey, and received his medical degree from the University of Istanbul. He completed an internship in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Children’s Hospital and a residency in pediatrics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Aybar gained valuable experience working in several Baltimore Metropolitan Area hospitals as a pediatrician in the emergency department and as a pediatric hospitalist.
Dr. Aybar undertook his pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center Children’s Hospital in Baltimore. While studying for his fellowship, Dr. Aybar’s work on celiac disease in children was featured in a medical textbook. He has since presented his work at several national meetings.
Dr. Aybar is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. His areas of particular interest include eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, failure to thrive, feeding problems in early infancy, and inflammatory bowel diseases in children and adolescents.
When he’s not helping children at Annapolis Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Dr. Aybar enjoys spending time with his wife and children, cycling, and playing basketball and soccer.
