Kiumars Ranjbar Tabar, MD

Dr. Tabar is a highly skilled transplant surgeon who specializes in kidney, pancreas, and liver transplantation, and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, including hepatectomies, bile duct resection and reconstruction, and pancreatoduodenectomy.

After earning his medical degree at Babol University of Medical Sciences School of Medicine in Mazandaran, Iran, Dr. Tabar completed his general surgery residency at Iran University of Medical Science in Tehran. He gained additional experience and expertise during his abdominal multi-organ transplant and hepatopancreatobiliary fellowship at the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Dr. Tabar is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and Iranian Association of Surgeons.

He has medical privileges at Allegheny General Hospital and West Penn Hospital.
