Robert Biederman, MD

Dr. Biederman specializes in advanced cardiovascular imaging including cardiovascular MRI and practices in preventative cardiology, echocardiography, cardiomyopathies, and congestive heart failure.

He is the Director of Cardiovascular MRI at Allegheny General Hospital and certified in cardiovascular MRI. He is the Systems Director for AHN CV Imaging.

Dr. Biederman earned his degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his Cardiovascular Fellowship and a Research Fellowship at University of Alabama at Birmingham where, additionally, he spent two years with an NIH sponsored Cardiovascular MRI Fellowship. He completed his Internship and Residency at Hershey Medical Center/Pennsylvania State University, Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Biederman has been consistently named one of Pittsburgh Magazine's "Best Doctors" and “Top Doctors” since 2005. He has authored over 140 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 300 abstracts, 20 chapters, while publishing 2 leading textbooks on Cardiovascular MRI. He has had numerous National Grants, Core Labs and other USA distinctions during his 20-year tenure at AGH.

He is currently Professor of Medicine at Drexel University and Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He is one of only a few Commonwealth of PA Cardiologists elected to the coveted Fellowship of American Heart Association and the only Cardiologist at AGH.
